3 days on from a top night of boxing action, we review the whole show!
Starting from the first fight of the night, Shannon Courtney suffered a PTS defeat to (5-3-1) Catherine Ramos over 6 rounds.
Sam Hickey made his pro debut is a perfect performance, really front footed exciting display, and had good crowd support, PTS decision over 4, vs John Henry Mosquera.
Completing the “Prelim” section, Fran Hennessy fought for her FIRST pro title, against the undefeated STRONG 5-0 Ana Moraes over 8 rounds, Hennessy took a points decision in a competitive fight & earned her first pro title.
The first fight of the main card was a battle of the English heavyweights, (6-1) Jeamie TKV took on (6-0-1) Franklin Ignatius over ten rounds for the English title eliminator, TKV STOPPED Franklin in the sixth round in a good performance, albeit a very negative display from Ignatius.
Next, Michael Mckinson took on Tulani Mbegne for the IBO World Welterweight Title, Mckinson started well in the first couple rounds, but faded away and in the end lost a fairly wide decision to Mbegne who became 2x IBO Champ on a swag day win.
In the chief support, Yarde took on Ralf Vilcans, although Yarde dropped Vilcans in the FIRST ten seconds, he was extended the distance and took a 98-92 PTS win, Valcans produced a warrior performance, and arguably the scorecards were ALOT closer in many peoples eyes with Valcans landing very easily on the back foot.
In the MAIN EVENT, high rising (11-0) Adam Azim KOed (25-3) Ohara Davies in the 8th round, a very exciting and fast performance in his first real test, Davies announced his retirement after the fight.
After the main event, it was a special TV match according to Boxxer, where (20-1-1) Dan Azeez faces Lewie Edmondson (9-0) over twelve for the British & Commonwealth light heavyweight titles, Lewie took a controversial MD win on PTS over Azeez, and claimed the titles just ten fights into his career, a very awkward style to beat, and had a lot of travelling support which is always good to see.
